Trailblazers hit the Polly Ann Trail to help underserved/uninsured women

As reported previously in The Review, the first annual Pink Ribbon Trailblazers Stroll, Ride, Run ‘Fun’draiser was held last Saturday along the Polly Ann Trail.
The event benefited breast cancer services at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. Proceeds raised will fund mammograms for underserved and uninsured women in Oakland County. For every $108 raised, one woman who may not have been able to receive a mammogram will now be able to.
According to Teri Donaldson, who along with Pat Nolf are the creators of the Pink Ribbon Trailblazers, the goal for the event was to fund at least 30 mammograms.
With over 100 participants, in a day deemed ‘heart warming? by Donaldson, funding was raised to help make at least 130 mammograms possible for underserved women.
