Lake Orion used a half-dozen turnovers and three Cortez McKinley touchdown runs to top visiting Bloomfield Hills Lahser 35-0 on Friday night.
The Dragons scored on drives that started at Lahser’s nine-yard line (a McKinley 13-yard run) and Lahser’s 19-yard line (a 16-yard run by A.J. Palko) to jump out to a 14-0 lead, thanks to a pair of turnovers (one on a fumble recovery and another on a botched punt snap).
The Dragons expanded that lead to 28-0 by halftime and made it 35-0 by the mid-point of the third quarter.
A running clock ended Lahser’s pain a bit quicker from that point on.
Lake Orion improves to 2-2 with the victory and 2-1 in OAA Red action.
