Construction is underway on a multi-purpose field project in the northern-most part of Friendship Park.
Glencorp, Inc. received the contract to complete the field from the township board in August, at an amount not to exceed $387,357.50.
Included in their bid was the cost of a ‘clean up? from unwanted debris that allegedly came in with some donated fill (as previously reported in The Review).
Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk said the township is continuing their investigation of that matter, with the help of their attorneys, though it has taken a back seat to a ‘more pressing issue.?
‘It troubles me that this report is not here,? said resident and former trustee Will Wilsher, who requested an investigation earlier this summer. ‘The more that this is dragged out the more I feel like somebody is trying to hide something.?
Dywasuk said nobody is blocking anything and Wilsher is getting his wish of an outside investigation.
‘It’s out of our hands,? he said. ‘The attorney is working with an outside agency.?
Dywasuk said he is unsure of when the item will return to the board.
‘The investigation is going forward, that’s all we can say,? he told Wilsher.
Wilsher added that he was disappointed that what he called a ‘related? agenda item he submitted last week was not placed on the agenda.
‘The attorney saw it and suggested pulling it off the agenda to avoid another lawsuit,? Dywasuk said, without getting into details.
