Council members Robert Reetz and David Churchill may be new to the village council, but that won’t stop them from taking an active role in council matters.
At Monday’s council meeting, Reetz was nominated and elected (4-3) to the position of president, as was Churchill (4-3) to the position of president pro tem.
Reetz immediately started in his new role as president by overseeing the meeting.
‘I’m excited for this opportunity to serve the village,? Reetz said afterwards.
Churchill, who said he has been serving the village for many years, sees his new position as council member and president pro tem as a further extension of service and is excited to get started as well.
Ken Van Portfliet received votes for both positions.
