LOHS golfers keep fresh on Top 50’s fall tour

With their season put on hold for another few months, Lake Orion High School golfers Andy Bogus and Cameron Beeler hit the links as par of the Top 50 Junior Tour’s fall season.
For the first time, the tour held a Ryder Cup championship, which Bogus qualified for in part because of he was the leading point-getter in the Southeast Michigan tour zone (254 points).
Beeler finished ninth in the zone with 127 points.
On Sunday, Bogus teamed with Joe Szymandski in the Ryder Cup format at Reddeman Farms Golf Course in Chelsea. The pair tied their match, but the Southeast Michigan zone fell to the Central zone by 12 shots.
The month proved to be a big one for Bogus on the links. Aside from his strong play on the tour, the LOHS senior recorded his second career ace at Wilderness Valley, just south of Gaylord, on Sept. 2.
This time, his hole-in-one was of the more conventional style, on the 160-yard par three 12th hole.
Bogus? first career ace was on the par four eighth hole at Oxford Hills and was profiled in The Review in April of 2006.
