XC boys split title, girls fifth

The Lake Orion boys cross country team earned a championship last Thursday, but they’ll have to share it with Lahser, after the Knights edged the Dragons in the league meet held at Bloomer Park.
Lahser, who was second in the league behind LO entering the meet, finished with 68 points to the second-place Dragons? 73.
Lake Orion was led by Doug Mack’s seventh-place finish. His time of 16:50.5 was just less than 30 seconds behind the run-away winner, Ted Howard of Seaholm.
Nathan Ziolko (12th ? 16:56.4), Ryan Ziolko (15th ? 17:05), Sean Bone (17th ? 17:22.1) and Kyle Lawton (22nd ? 17:26.8) accounted for the rest of Lake Orion’s points.
Allie Hock led the girls? squad, finishing 11th with a time of 19:48 (1:19.5 behind first place Tiffany Abrahamian of Rochester).
Rochester edged Adams for first place with 60 points, while the Dragons took fifth place with 139 points.
Lisa Bandico (18th ? 20:10.3), Sydney Gutierrez (26th ? 20:40.5) and Sammie Kaufman (38th ? 21:08.5) and Rebecca Dow (50th ? 21:48.9) were Lake Orion’s other top runners.
Both teams are in action this Saturday for regionals, which will be held at Springfield Oaks.
