Invasion

Dozens of comic book characters, hoards of witches and goblins and an occasional princess were among the several hundred youngsters to invade the streets of downtown Lake Orion last Tuesday night for the annual parade through the village.
The Downtown Development Authority estimated the record crowd size to be around 1,200 people, based on candy distributed at the Gazebo in Children’s Park.
Village merchants estimated giving out candy to between 700-900 trick-or-treaters.
In addition to candy, some gift baskets were handed to some lucky winners. Starbucks gift baskets went to Renee Breaker of Ortonville and Shawna Teague of Lake Orion, and an Orion Art Center book, ‘All Hallows Eve? was awarded to Ryan Marshall of Oxford.
