History was brought to life last week when Blanche Sims Elementary’s Mrs. Lovely’s first grade class hosted Pioneer Day.
The event was organized by volunteer Linda Schenburn for her granddaughter’s class.
‘We’re learning about long ago, so what’s a better way to learn than to put on an outfit and learn about our country’s heritage,? Schenburn said.
The students created costumes from paper patterns, bringing bonnets, shirts, pants and aprons from history into today. The group also created candles.
