The Addison Oaks Ballroom in Leonard will come alive on Saturday, Feb. 9, as the 19th annual Snowflake Ball brings art enthusiasts together for an evening of elegance and intrigue.
This year, the gala has a masquerade theme with awards to be given for the best masks. Both masks and black ties are optional, but, of course, creativity is encouraged to enhance the mystery and the magic of the evening.
The event features an open deluxe bar, gourmet dinner, auctions (both silent and live), music for dancing, art demonstrations and much more.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Orion Art Center. Tickets are $85 per person ($95 after Jan. 20).
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, silent auction and a performance by members of the Lake Orion High School Orchestra. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m., followed by the live auction with Emcee Ron Tavernit of WOMC FM.
An array of delightful specialty desserts from area restaurants will be offered following dinner, and the silent auction and dancing will continue into the evening.
At this year’s Snowflake Ball, the OAC will proudly honor Janet Almstadt-Davison as Artist of the Year and Mr. Sandy Mabery as Patron of the Arts (for more on those awards, please see Page 10). Christine Lehman, Lake Orion Schools Superintendent, will serve as Honorary Chair.
‘We thank these individuals for their tremendous support of the arts and their extraordinary dedication to the Orion Art Center,? said OAC Director Reggie Harrison.
Sponsors of the event include Oxford Bank, Friends of William E. Scripps Estate, Great Lakes Mercantile, SA&A Architects, Pine Tree Place Assisted Living, Indianwood Psychology Group, Lymtal International, Orion/Troy Ophthalmology, Carol Holmes, P.C., Amazing Clark Entertainment, and Craig S. Romanzi & Associates, P.C., HOUR Detroit magazine and The Lake Orion Review.
Auction items have been graciously donated by area artists and businesses and include a wonderful variety of art, goods, services and a few trips. Donations will be accepted until Jan. 26.
