Cheerleaders win OAA I meet

The Lake Orion cheer squad has moved to #3 in the coaches rankings based on their first place finish at the OAA I meet last Saturday at Troy Athens.
Lake Orion’s 779.300-point total topped Rochester by more than 15 points and Stoney Creek by over 18 points.
The Dragons prevailed thanks to Round 2 (246.300) and Round 3 (463.800) scores that rank among the best in the entire state this season.
Lake Orion’s Round 3 was 13 points ahead of Rochester, the defending state champs who also have the year’s highest score to date. The Dragons? margin of victory was helped by an eight-point Falcons penalty.
The team heads to Grand Rapids this weekend for a tournament featuring some of the state’s best.
That event will feature both #2 Grandville and #1 Rochester, teams the Dragons have now beaten in consecutive weeks.
