Oxford fell on hard times once again last Friday after Lapeer East defeated them 32-64.
The Wildcats started out strong, scoring the first six points of the game, but then fell behind late in the first quarter due to a tremendous play by the East squad.
The boys were down 16-28 at half-time, then Lapeer outscored Oxford 18-2 in the third. Once again, the Wildcats? inability to consistently score did them in.
Senior captain Zach Tilley led the team with 10 points, while sophomore Mike Bertling scored seven. Senior captain Rick Brady had six rebounds and drew a charging foul. Junior Anthony Esparsa had a nice fourth quarter, scoring five points.
Oxford is now 5-11 overall and 4-10 in the league. They take on Brandon at home Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
