Kingsbury Country Day School is ‘going green? for this year’s auction to benefit the Kingsbury students.
All materials used in conjunction with the auction, which will take place Saturday, March 8 on Kingsbury’s campus, are biodegradable and/or made from recycled materials.
For example, guests will be drinking from coconut shells and eating from bamboo plates with potato fiber flatware. ‘Caribbean Escape? is the theme for the semi-annual event chaired by Tara Moyer of Oxford along with Julie Frontera and Diane Haig of Rochester, and will celebrate both the environmental education curriculum at Kingsbury and the fact that the school will soon become an International Baccalaureate World School.
Featuring an amazing offering of trips and experiences, the semi-annual auction typically raises more than $100,000 that goes directly to help fund the outstanding educational programs at Kingsbury.
Moyer’s graphic and creative talents have led the committee to move away from the traditional program for the evening. Every child at Kingsbury will be part of the keepsake video which every guest will receive.
Highlights in the auction include use of a pair of condos at breathtaking Kapalua on the island of Maui, vacation homes in Cape Cod, the Smoky Mountains, Montana, and several beautiful northern Michigan properties including Glen Lake, Lake Leelanau and Canadian Lakes.
Beautiful artwork, a deluxe electric scooter, a fabulous collection of jewelry, toys and fun experiences for children will be found by generous buyers.
