This just in…

The singing and dancing phenomenon known as the Young Americans will once again be in Lake Orion and working with students fourth through 12th grade.
Due to a cancellation in their touring schedule, the group has decided to use their newly available free time to offer a special two-day workshop and performance for Lake Orion.
The workshop, which runs Friday, March 7 from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., features classes in vocal techniques, stage movement, musical theatre and much more.
The students will put their new knowledge to use on March 8, when their workshop will culminate with a show from 7-9 p.m.
Cost is $52 to participate in the workshop (fee does not include meals or t-shirt). T-shirts can be purchased or rented for $9.50 (full refund on rentals once shirt is returned). Participants can also wear their shirts from the last time the Young Americans were in town last September/October.
Both the workshop and performance will be held at the Ehman Center, located at 55 Elizabeth Street in downtown Lake Orion.
According to the Young Americans, their goal is for ‘students to learn, grow, respect one another and to have fun through the common denominator of music.?
For families and friends that are interested in attending the March 8th performance, which will feature both the Young Americans and local students, tickets can be purchased for adults for $8 and student/children for $5. Bleachers will be available, but it is also recommended for audience members to bring a folding chair to put on the gym floor.
