The Lake Orion boys? placed third and the girls? finished fifth at Saturday’s Track & Field Regionals, held at Clarkston High School.
The boys? 64 points, were 12 back of second-place Grand Blanc (Adams took first with 106 points). The girls? 57 points were just one behind Oxford and 1.2 back of Adams (Clarkston won with 122.2 points).
Automatic individual state qualifiers for LO (meaning a top-two finish) were Niklas Rippon (boys ? 110 hurdles), Chiara Allen (girls ? 110 hurdles) and the girls? 4X100 relay.
There are several other qualifiers for the Dragons based on times. Look for a full listing in next week’s Review. State finals are slated for May 31.
Meanwhile, the team will travel to Farmington on Friday for the annual county meet.
