Mid-Michigan streets might look a little more dangerous this summer, but Joseph Byrd promises it is only a show.
Byrd, Goodrich resident and 2002 Brandon High School graduate, is organizing a professional wrestling tour, ‘The Gluttons for Glory Summer Tour.?
‘It’s the same quality of wrestling you’d see on TV from WWE, but they are local wrestlers,? Byrd said.
Bird is promoting Pure Pro Wrestling, an independent professional wrestling company located in Davison.
PPW is composed of independent wrestlers from the area.
‘Gonig to a PPW event is like going to see an indie band play,? Byrd said. ‘We don’t have a label.?
The tour will take the wrestlers to Waterford, Lapeer, Argentine, Davison and Mount Morris. It will last from Aug. 1 through Sept. 28.
‘There will be something going on every weekend,? Byrd said. ‘We’ll have two or three shows a weekend.?
Famous WWE wrestlers, Greg ‘The Hammer? Valentine and ‘The One-Legged Wonder? Zach Gowen, will make a showing on the tour.
Byrd, a professional wrestler himself, will be wrestling as well.
‘They’ll be family friendly shows,? he said.
