Party at Bowman’s for Easter Seals

John Bowman Chevrolet hosts the second annual Cheers to the Holidays for Easter Seals Michigan.
“This is a great cause,” said Katie Bowman Coleman, dealer principal. “Clarkston is a community like no other. It has a big heart.”
The dealership, founded by the late John Bowman, has supported Easter Seals for decades and was a major sponsor at last year’s inaugural Cheers to the Holidays. Katie, John’s daughter, stepped up to host this year, said Brent Wirth of Clarkston, president and CEO of Easter Seals Michigan.
“John was a big supporter of Easter Seals, such a philanthropist,” Wirth said. ‘We are proud to find a great community partner like John Bowman Chevrolet to team up with for this event. It will be a great way for us to celebrate the holidays as well as perpetuate the Easter Seals mission of providing service and support to those with disabilities and their families.?
“It’s to raise money to help families and individuals with special needs. This is a fun way to do that,” Katie said. “My sister was helped by Easter Seals ? my family never forgot that.”
Showrooms and service areas will be decked out in Christmas decorations for attendees, who will enjoy a strolling dinner and sampling of high end wine and craft beer at the dealership, 6750 Dixie Highway, 7-10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6.
The event will feature live music by acclaimed singer/songwriter Jason Wagner and a raffle. Items include four rounds of golf at the Grand Hotel, Pistons gift pack including game tickets and autographed jersey, Kenneth Cole bag valued at $810, art pieces, and jewelry.
“There are some amazing items,” Katie said.
“An amazing variety,” Wirth said. “A lot of it comes from the community ? people wanted to be a part of it. This is a very giving community.”
Tickets are $35 each or two tickets for a discounted price of $50. They are available at www.essmichigan.org and space is limited.
Funds raised at this event will go towards the life-changing programs offered at Easter Seals Michigan. These services help local individuals who have disabilities or special needs, and their families, to live better lives, Wirth said.
“In the season of giving, this is the perfect way to make the season a little bit brighter for someone else,” he said.
This event is made possible thanks to sponsors like Oak Electric, Zara Creative, PCE Systems. Easter Seals Michigan is a nonprofit provider of services for individuals with mental illnesses, emotional impairments, autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs.
‘Easter Seals has been serving Michigan for over 93 years by being innovative and addressing the needs of our community,” Wirth said. “This event will allow us to raise funds for those we serve and also celebrate this time of the year with those community members that help support our mission.?
