The Oxford Downtown Development Authority isn’t the only one in the market for a new director these days.
Nicole Alexander resigned as director of the Oxford Chamber of Commerce. Her last day is May 15.
‘I am moving on to another position at Curtis Insurance,? she said.
Alexander explained she was looking for a ‘different opportunity? because she’s planning to further her education. ‘I didn’t feel like I could do this job justice by trying to go back to school full-time,? she said.
Her tenure with the chamber was brief.
She started as an office assistant last July and was promoted to director, a part-time position, in November.
‘I really did enjoy it,? she said. ‘Oxford is awesome. Overall, the organizations I was able to work with, the people in the community, the business owners and the downtown district have all been really, really great. That’s part of why I wanted to stay local.?
Alexander hopes to ‘make things as easy as possible? for the next director. Her goal is a ‘seamless? transition.?
Even though she’ll no longer be employed by the chamber, Alexander will still be around.
‘I definitely intend to stay very active and involved in the community,? she said.
