Soup and Sweet Stroll downtown Friday night

The Oxford Downtown Development Authority’s annual Soup and Sweet Stroll will return from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.
Visitors will be able purchase wristbands in Centennial Park, then stroll from restaurant to restaurant and store to store, tasting Oxford’s signature hors d’oeuvres, soups, and sweet treats.
Tickets for the Soup and Sweet Stroll will be sold in Centennial Park from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Wristbands are $10 each, three for $25 or four for $30. Children under 12 eat free with the purchase of an adult wristband.
This year’s event includes a visit from Santa Claus, petting farm, caroling and performances by Oxford Community Schools choirs beginning at 7 p.m.
The highlight of the evening is a Christmas tree lighting at 8 p.m. in Centennial Park.
Downtown restaurants are invited to make a signature soup or sweet to share with visitors. Downtown businesses are encouraged to participate by staying open late, offering specials, and setting up outside to serve pre-packaged treats.
Event sponsors include the Edward C. Levy Corp., Oxford Bank and Genisys Credit Union
