Junior Paige Blevins is making an impact for the Lady Wolves with big saves and big hits.
Within the first few weeks of the Clarkston Girls Varsity Softball games she hit ten home runs including three against Lake Orion in the Lady Wolves double header win, April 25. During the second game she hit two home runs, a double and had six RBIs.
“It sticks out,” said Don Peters, head coach.
Blevins added ten home runs has definitely been a highlight so far. Continuing to work outside of practice has helped her.

“I go home and hit more because I don’t feel like failing,” she said. “I do outside work with my dad helping me. Plus some of the plays I have made at short stop recently have been fluid. Not perfect, but I have been working on it and getting better at it.”
Blevins began playing softball between 6- and 7-years-old and explained both her parents played.
“I figured I would try it,” she smiled.
She kept playing because she enjoyed the competitiveness of the sport.
“I am a very competitive person,” she said, adding she also enjoys how intense and how fast paced softball is for her.
She plans to continue playing softball and is committed to play for Central Michigan University.
Blevins said it was important for her to take softball to the next level after high school.
“For me it is how hard I have worked so far as much as I love it, I should continue it,” she said. “If I don’t continue softball it won’t be worth it because I put all this work into it. This is where I want to be at. This is what I want to do.”
She currently has a 3.2 grade point average and is taking her required classes. When she isn’t studying or at practice, she can be found continuing to play softball.
Her advice for aspiring athletes is don’t give up.
“There’s going to be hard times,” Blevins said. “I definitely went through a lot. It’s all worth it in the end. You just have to find the light at the end of the tunnel. It will all work itself out.”
