Clarkston Everest Collegiate was victorious in capturing their second consecutive MHSAA Division 4 Boys Golf State Championship title at Michigan State University, June 9-10.
During the span of two days at Forest Akers East, the Mountaineers scored 629, taking the win by 11 strokes.
Sophomore Mitch Lowney led the team with a 72 and 71 for 143 total to finish in second place as Top Individual.
Senior Joey McMahon tied for eighth place as Top Individual with a 152 with shooting 76 on both days.
Junior JC James finished with 163 from a par of 86 and 78; junior Nick Korns, 86 and 85 for 171; and sophomore Kevin Meehan, 86 and 88 for 174.
The Mountaineers captured their third consecutive regional championship at Heather Highlands during the MHSAA Boys Golf Division 4 Regionals to score 318 and beat the next closest team by 36 strokes, June 2.
Lowney was the tournament medalist with a par of 71. McMahon shot an 80; Korns shot an 82; James shot an 85 and Meehan shot an 89.
The Mountaineers also won their third consecutive Catholic High School League Division 2 championship during the spring season. They defeated Allen Park Cabrini by 30 strokes as the Mountaineers scored a total of 321 to win the title.
McMahon led the team with a 74 and received a medal. Lowney shot a 75; James had a 85; and Korns had a 87 for the day at Oakland University.
