The Lady Wolves opened their league play with two wins over their foes Troy Athens, 3-0, and Troy, 3-1, last week.
The Clarkston Varsity Volleyball team defeated Troy in the first two games 25-20 and 25-21 of the OAA Red game last Thursday. The Colts won the third game 25-18 but couldn’t take the fourth game from Clarkston as the Lady Wolves won it 25-17.
They opened the week defeating Troy Athens 25-13, 25-10, 25-6 in their first home game, Sept. 12.
The Lady Wolves went 3-2 in the Mercy Tournament in Warren on Saturday.
They defeated Anchor Bay in three games, 25-13, 25-22, 25-20; and lost to Mercy 23-25, 25-20, 16-25 in pool play. They went on to beat Port Huron Northern in the quarterfinals, 25-11, 25-19. Then, beat Birmingham Seaholm in the semifinals, 25-20, 25-15. They lost to Mercy in the finals, 23-25, 27-25, 10-15.
The Lady Wolves (19-8, 2-0 OAA Red) opened the week on Tuesday against Stoney Creek. They head to Lake Orion next Tuesday. JV plays at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

The Clarkston Volleyball Freshman team finished the Novi tournament in third place out of 11 teams on Saturday.
The Lady Wolves defeated Troy Athens in league play on Sept. 12, 3-0. Kate Gualtieri had five kills, Meredith Morris had 12 serves, and Braedyn Botterill had 12 big defensive plays for the team during the night. The JV team also defeated Troy Athens last Thursday 25-12, 25-10, 25-5.

The Wolves dominated the north for the second consecutive year as they won their tournament in Traverse City, Sept. 1.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Tennis team’s Singles players continued to dominate the courts as each one swept their opponents from Traverse City Central, Grand Haven and Forest Hills East.
Singles players Luke Baylis, Frankie Piana, Jacob Burkett and Noah Fasczewski scored 12 of the 16 points the team earned for the tournament.
The Wolves opened their league with a 5-4 win over Rochester Adams on September 6.
The Wolves captured wins on each singles court as Luke Baylis defeated Julian Hyman on Singles No. 1, 6-2, 6-1;
Frankie Piana defeated Joshua Li Singles No. 2, 6-3, 6-0; Jacob Burkett defeated Jorge Rorzas on Singles No. 3, 6-0, 6-0; and Noah Faszewski defeated Evan Chang on Singles No. 4, 6-1, 6-2.
Rochester Adams dominated the doubles courts to tie the score. It came down to the Doubles No. 5 team of Ike Yeloushan and Brendan Aughe who broke the tie with a 8-5 win over Anthony Ni and Jacob Keller.
On Doubles No. 1, Charlie Lussenhop and Jason Richards lost to Matt Heaphy and Alvin Chen , 7-6 (1), 6-4; on Doubles No. 2, Logan Knowlson and Shane McArthur lost to Hunter Lambrecht and Tomas Wu, 7-5, 6-2; on Doubles No. 3, Max Meehan and Jed Horst lost to Michael Moran and Ameer Shoquekan, 6-2, 6-4; and on Doubles No. 4, Adam Zentner and Evan Walsh lost to Jacob Frank and Jeffrey Ni, 6-3, 6-2.
The boys finished in third place at the Ann Arbor Pioneer Invitational on Saturday with 12 points.
Baylis, Piana and Burkett led the teams and went 9-0 without losing a set and won a goal medal.
On Singles No. 4 court, Fasczewski went for a three-set win in the last match of the day to bring the boys to 12 points.
Richards and Lussenhop earned silver medals on the Doubles No. 1 for the day while Horst and Meehan scored a point for the team on Doubles No. 3 court.
Pioneer finished in first place with 18 points; Northville took second with 14 points and Port Huron Northern finished fourth with four points.
The boys lost close matches against league foes last week with a 5-4 loss to both Birmingham Seaholm and Birmingham Groves.
They opened the weekend against Seaholm with wins from Baylis, 6-1, 6-1; Piana, 6-0, 6-1; Burkett, 6-0, 6-0; Fasczewski, 6-2, 6-0, on the singles courts.
Against Groves last Thursday, Baylis avenged a loss from the summer with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Burkett also won on his court, 6-0, 6-3.
Lussenhop and Richards won on Doubles No. 1 court with a 6-4, 7-6 win.
The fourth win for the Wolves came from Yeloushan and Aughe on Doubles No. 5 with a 9-8 victory.
The Wolves opened the week at Troy Athens on Tuesday and head to Lake Orion on Thursday. They are home on Tuesday against Troy, 4 p.m .
