The Clarkston Boys Bowling program was firing on all cyclinders this season.
The JV team rolled the lanes as they went undefeated.
“It looks very promising,” said Ken Clayton, boys JV coach at the beginning of the season. “We haven’t really lost a step from last year. Their skill set is equal to most varsity or advanced bowlers.”
They finished the season with an overall record 12-0 and finished first place in the OAA Red, winning all six of their foes. They scored 30-0 on Lake Orion, Birmingham and Troy and 29-1 on two opponents, Avondale and Royal Oak.
The varsity team finished the season with an overall 10-2 record and finished in second place in the OAA Red with a 5-1 record.
All the bowlers in the program had such a high talent they would rotate competing in JV or varsity matches.
“I can take almost any of them and bring them up to varsity if I have to,” said Bill George, varsity coach. “It doesn’t affect us too much.
The bowlers for the boys program are freshman Patrick McLetchie; sophomores Chandler Fleming, Jack Frendo, Cale Herzenstiel, Timothy O’Daniel, Jacob Porter; Joshua Boyd, Caleb Christensen, Jacob Corey, Justin Evans, Kyle Hancsak, Nathan Locher, Devin Tyus; seniors Andrew Bradford, Leo Chasse, Drew Clayton, Sean Furness, Jake Phelps and Drew Sagowitz.
