The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team opened the season at the Southern Swing Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
They finished in first place Friday with 308 at Locust Hills Golf Club in Springfield Hills, Ohio. Patrick Deardorff led the team, hitting a 74 for the day, finishing in third place. Cole Smaka hit a 75 to tie for fourth place and Harry Bowman tied for seventh place with a 77. Alex Oda had a 82.
The Wolves finished in fourth with 310 during the second day. Deardorff led the team with a 72, placing in fourth. Bowman hit a 77, tying for 13th. Smaka hit a 79 and Oda, 82.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Lacrosse team posted two wins and one loss as they returned from spring break last week.
The Wolves opened the week with a 15-3 win over Troy last Thursday.
The game was tied at two goals each after the first quarter.
Senior Drew Vandenberg broke the tie just over one minute into the second quarter.
Senior Eric Csizmadia, senior Keelan McKouen and Vandenberg each scored a goal to close the first half with a 6-2 lead.
McKouen and Vandenberg kept up their momentum as they scored two more goals in the third quarter before Troy scored their third goal of the night with two and a half minutes left in the quarter. Junior Dylan Raleigh struck back with another goal for Clarkston off an assist from McKouen with a minute to go to the fourth quarter, 9-3.
The remaining six goals of the night came from Csizmadia, Vandenberg, senior Matthew Atchison, freshman Evan McClorey, sophomore Harry Skinner, with the last goal from junior Xander Green with an assist from junior Frank Davis. Assists from Skinner, McKouen and Csizmadia.
The Wolves defeated Upper Canada College last Saturday, 11-4, with goals from Davis, Csizmadia, McKouen, Skinner, Raleigh, sophomore Sam Lightfoot and junior Jeff Barnett.
They lost to St. Michael’s College on Sunday, 13-6. Atchison led the team with three goals. Csizmadia had one goal and one assist. Vandenberg and Barnett scored one goal each.
The boys opened the week against Birmingham. They head to Troy Athens on Thursday and host Orchard Lake St. Mary’s on Tuesday. JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

The Clarkston Girls Varsity Lacrosse team head opened their season with a 24-0 win over Chippewa Valley last Thursday. They head to Lakeland this Thursday and head to Troy on Monday.
