Three for victory column

The Clarkston Girls Varsity Lacrosse team posted three wins last week.
They opened with a 15-9 win over Troy Athens last Wednesday where they led 10-3 at the end of the first half. Kaitlyn Bridger and Elizabeth Oda led the game with three goals each.
The Wolves defeated Bloomfield Hills on Saturday, 19-17.
They finished the first half leading by five points, 11-6.
Bloomfield Hills opened the second half scoring seven unanswered points before the Wolves stopped them from anymore. Kaitlyn Bridger ended the dry spell for Clarkston with 14:30 remaining in the game and two more goals from Maya Roy and Lindsey Frederick put the two teams at a 14-14 tie.
The back and forth battle continued until Frederick created a 2-goal cushion with her goal with three minutes left in the game, 19-17.
Oda led the team with six goals. Roy had four goals. Bridger scored four goals and had four assists. Frederick had three goals and one assist.
The Wolves beat Oxford on Monday, 13-5. Bridger was the first to put Clarkston on the board and Caroline Williamson tied the game at two.
With 6:30 left to go in the first half, Melanee Sheldon brought the Wolves into the lead with her successful shot in the net, 3-2.
Oda and Bridger closed the half with one more goal each for the Wolves, 5-2.
Roy, Oda and Bridger led the team with three goals each. Sheldon had two goals. Lexi Carmean and Williamson had one each.
The Wolves head to Stoney Creek on Thursday, 7 p.m. They head to Fenton next Tuesday for the second round of the MHSAA Girls Lacrosse Regional 4 playoffs, 6 p.m.

Golfers in top 10

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team finished in first place in three tournaments last week. They finished with a score of 298 place out of 19 teams at the Ninth Annual Dearborn Elite Invitational, May 6.
All four golfers finishing in the top ten. Noah Bridgeman finished in second place with a score of 72. Patrick Deardorff and Alex Oda tied for third with 75; Harry Bowman, seventh, 76; and Cameron Thomas, ninth, 79.
Farmington High School finished in second pace with 316; and Mason, third.
Next it was off to St. Clair Shores for the Sixth Annual Husky-Shorian Invitational where they scored 288, on Friday. Deardorff tied for first place with a score of 70.
Bowman and Bridgeman shared fourth place with a 72; and Cole Smaka finished in tenth place with a 74.
They scored a 301 for first place at the Wayne Wire Golf tournament on Saturday.
Deardorff finished in first place again with a score of 70. Bowman finished in eighth place with a 75 and Smaka finished in 12th place with a 76. Oda hit a 80.
They head to the Oakland County Championship this Wednesday at Pontiac Country Club.
