Collecting donations

Scripps Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society members recently sorted over 3,000 personal items and cleaning items to donate to local domestic abuse shelters and senior citizen drop-off centers.
The NJHS is comprised of over 50 eighth graders who have achieved a 3.5 grade point average or higher and have exhibited exemplary conduct. The organization meets monthly to do various kinds of service projects.
Scripps Principal Ken Gutman said the response to the request for personal supplies demonstrated that Scripps students are very concerned with their community and especially helping those who are less fortunate.
