The Wolves finished in third place at the OAA Red Wrestling tournament at Clarkston High School on Friday with 155.5 points.
Hayden Payne, Drew Stark, Dru Martin and Auggie Anderson finished as champions for the night in their weight classes.
Payne went 2-0 in the 160-pound weight class with a fall over Rochester’s Ben Trevarrow, 5:19; and by decision over Oxford’s Tate Myer, 11-5.
Stark went 2-0 in the 215-pound weight class posting wins with pins over Birmingham Seaholm’s Matt Gilbert, 25 seconds; and Lake Orion’s Judah Kinne, 2:45.
Martin went 2-0 in the 103-pound weight class with a fall over Seaholm’s Grace Beshears, 38 seconds; and a technical fall over Oxford’s Zach Call, 4:12.
Auggie Anderson (112) went undefeated with a fall over Rochester’s Gerardo Sierra, 4:38; and a major decision over Rochester Adams’ Aaron Wildrick, 14-1.
Nicholas Franco and Owen Masters finished in second place. Franco finished in second place in the 135-pound weight class with a win over Rochester’s Ronin Mason, 8-1; and loss to Oxford’s Nathan Call in the championship match by a fall, 3:54.
Masters (140) won his first match over Rochester’s Sam Pizzo, 5-3; and lost to Oxford’s Jack Smith by a fall, 1:10.
Connor Ulrich, Collin Trevino and Angelo Marino finished in third place for the night and Gabriel Gipe
Ulrich (145) went 3-1 for the night to finish in third place. He posted wins over Rochester’s Emilio Donato, 9-1; Rochester Adams’ Andrew Brown, 7-3; and Birmingham Seaholm’s Miles Mentag, 1-0. He lost to Lake Orion’s Andrew Miller, 8-0.
Trevino (171) went 3-1 with wins over Seaholm’s Eric Puttaiah with a fall, 56 seconds; Oxford’s Gabe Kerin, 4-0; and Rochester’s Anthony Piccirilli, 2-1. He lost to Rochester Adams’ Joseph Dreon, 1-0.
Marino (189) went 2-1 with wins over Seaholm’s David Watkinson with a fall, 2:34; and Rochester’s Nick Terenzi with a fall, 5:00. He lost to Oxford’s Ty Myre, 6-4.
Gabriel Gipe finished in fifth place with two wins and two losses in the 130-pound weight class. He posted both wins over Adams’ Alex Mackris with a fall, 5:54; and a 9-2 decision. He lost to Lake Orion and Seaholm. Derek Harfield (152) finished in fourth place with two losses.
Darian Shelton (119) with three losses and Ashton Anderson (125) finished in sixth place with two losses by forfeit and one by injury.
The Wolves compete in the MHSAA Wrestling Division 1 Team District 105 at Lake Orion on Wednesday. They face the Dragons in the semifinal at 6 p.m. The winner moves on to district final at 7:30 p.m. The MHSAA Division 1 Individual District 2 at Rochester, Feb. 15.
