Wolves’ spirit leads to first-place finish in league championship

Clarkston Varsity Competitive Cheer ruled the league on Saturday as they won the OAA League Championship at Oxford High School.
The team scored a total score of 677.82 in three rounds. They scored 203.9 points during the first round; 183.02 during the second round; and 290.90 during the third round.

It is their first OAA championship win since 2014 and fourth league championship win in Clarkston Competitive Cheer history.
The Wolves opened the week with a first place win at Troy High School, Feb. 17.
They scored a total of 649.98 after three rounds. They scored 211.4 points during the first round; 171.18 during the second round; and 267.4 during the third round.
Though no spectators were allowed so parents and fans cheered on their athletes through Facebook live.
The team spent most of the winter season practicing via Zoom while waiting to hear when the contact sport could compete again.
The Wolves have more competitions scheduled while also preparing for the post-season which begins Saturday, March 20 when they compete in the MHSAA Competitive Cheer District 6 meet at Oxford, 11 a.m.
