Clarkston Everest Collegiate Football won their homecoming game over Cardinal Mooney last Friday, 45-3.
The Mountaineers jumped to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with a 14-yard touchdown run from Jimmy Nedwick and a 6-yard touchdown run from Nathan Beggs. Joey Thibodeau scored on two PATs.
Everest scored 21 more points in the second quarter. Kevin Cronin started the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run and Johnny Nedwick scored on the 2-point conversion.
Thibodeau scored the next two touchdown on a 1-yard run and a 47-yard run with one PAT.
Cardinal Mooney closed the game with a 25-yard field goal.
Thibodeau finished the night going 5-for-6 in passing for 47 yards. Johnny Nedwick caught two passes for 27 yards and Wyatt caught two passes for 17 yards.
Jimmy Nedwick carried the ball three times for 25 yards. Beggs rushed the ball four times for 19 yards.
Everest Boys Varsity Soccer closed last week with a 9-1 win over Austin Catholic. Mark Cross, Lucas Cross and Sawyer Arbogast each had two goals. Zach Feliz, Gabriel Potempski and TJ Abraham had one goal each.
They opened the week with Senior Night on September 28 and tied with Summit Homeschool, 4-4. Lucas Cross scored all four goals.
The Everest Girls Cross Country team finished in third place in their division at the second CHSL Jamboree at Hudson Mills last Thursday.
Junior Caroline Cross led the Mountaineers, finishing in ninth place in the time of 22:32.96. Senior Avery Herrgott was close behind in tenth place in the time of 22:33.09.
The top five finishers also included sophomore Eve Herrgott in 12th place, 22:48.35; freshman Olivia Leahy, 19th place, 23:25.80; and junior Stephanie Suran, 27th place, 24:01.23.
University Liggett and Allen Park Cabrini tied for first place with 67 points. Everest finished in third with 75 points; Royal Oak Shrine, fourth, 76; Ann Arbor Greenhills, fifth, 80; Madison Heights Bishop, sixth, 137; Austin Catholic, seventh, 176; and Riverview Gabriel Richard, eighth, 229.
Everest Varsity Volleyball lost two Cardinal Mooney last Wednesday, 3-2. They won the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-23. Mooney took the next three with 25-15, 25-20 and 15-10.
They lost to Riverview Gabriel Richard on September 27, 3-0, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-23.
