The Wolves returned to the field on Monday afternoon, ready to put what they learned at West Bloomfield into action.
Clarkston Varsity Football finished their trip to the Laker Stadium in an 34-27 overtime loss.
“I didn’t think we really brought our ‘A’ game and in crunch time they made plays and we didn’t,” said Kurt Richardson, long-time head coach. “Containing their quarterback was probably the biggest issue we had. They are a good football team. There were a lot of good things that happened, but we have to make plays in crunch time.”
The Wolves finished the first half with a 14-7 lead after Ethan Clark scored on a 49-yard pass from Mike DePillo in the first quarter and Jacob Beck scored on a 10-yard pass from DePillo in second quarter.

Clark scored again in the third quarter off a 9-yard run, putting the lead 20-14.
West Bloomfield tied the score with eight minutes left in the game on a 4-yard run.
It was shortlived as Beck had a 81-yard kick off return, finishing in the endzone to put the Wolves up, 27-20.
“He had a great return,” said Richardson. “It was awesome.”
West Bloomfield tied the game. They attempted one more but Wolf Desman Stephens intercepted a last second pass, sending the game into overtime.
DePillo went 7-for-16 in passing for 159 yards, becoming the sixth player in school history to throw for over 3,000 yards. Clark caught two passes for 91 yards and Lucas McKinney caught two passes for 55 yards.
Clark was the leading rusher going 138 yards on 20 carries, and became the ninth player in school history to rush for 2,000 yards in a career. DePillo went 18 yards on six carries. Edward Langton went 3-for-4 on PATs.
Evan McClorey had six tackles, nine assists, one sack and two tackles for loss in yards. Mason King had five tackles and seven assists. Stephens had four tackles, three assists and one interception. Brady Krzciok had two tackles, seven assists, one sack and one tackle for loss. Cavanaugh Diton had one tackle, ten assists and one tackle for loss. Caden Ladd had one tackle and nine assists. Mekhi Battle had one tackle and eight assists and Jaylen Wilson had one tackle and four assists. Ian Olson had an interception and nine assists.
The Wolves (5-1, 3-1 OAA Red) host Lake Orion (2-4, 1-3) on Friday.
“They are always tough,” said Richardson. “We are going to have to play better than we did on Friday night.”
