Clarkston Everest Collegiate finished the football season on Saturday in a 38-12 loss to Ottawa Lake Whiteford.
The Mountaineers opened the MHSAA Division 8 Region 4 championship game on a 1-yard touchdown.
Ottawa Lake Whiteford tied the game on their own touchdown, 6-6.
Everest scored again on a 19-yard run to close the first quarter with a 12-6 lead.
Johnny and Jimmy Nedwick both scored in the first quarter.
Ottawa Lake Whiteford scored twice before the first half closed to take the lead, 22-12. Then, scored two more times in the fourth quarter to close the game and move on to semifinals set for this Saturday.
The Mountaineers finished the season 9-3. They claimed the district championship with a 46-0 win over Lutheran Northwest after being victorious in their pre-district game against Mt. Clemens High School, 42-0.
Players received honors in the Catholic High School League with Aidan Beauchamp, Nathaniel Beggs, Johnny Nedwick, Diego Ramirez-Gomez, Matthew Ross, Joseph Thibodeau all garnering All-Catholic recognition.
All League: Dominic Engle, Gavin Harris, Spencer Lacey, James Nedwick were named All-League and Shanghyun Park was named All-Academic.
The Mountaineers graduate eight seniors – Aidan Beauchamp, Nathan Beggs, Jimmy Nedwick, Jimmy Neme, Diego Ramirez-Gomez, Matthew Ross, Gavin Ryeson and Joey Thibodeau.
