The district has yet to find a permanent principal for Lake Orion High School, though the search continues according to Superintendent Ken Gutman.
‘With the resume as we’ve seen and what we’ve heard, there could be some viable candidates,? he said of an upcoming round of interviews.
As their ten-week contract nears expiration, Gutman noted interim principals Tom Tobe or Mike Fenchel will remain in the position, either individually or as a team, until the district finds a suitable replacement.
‘We’re very happy with the experience they’ve brought to us,? noted Gutman.
‘The feedback I’ve gotten has been mostly positive. I really haven’t heard anything negative,? he said of community and staff experiences with the interim principals.
Gutman says the district’s experienced some unexpected financial savings because Tobe and Fenchel are not paid retirement.
‘Although that’s not the reason we did it,? he added.
