Senior Tristan Mattson is making an impact every Friday night with his kicking game.
Mattson went 3-for-3 on PATs and scored on three field goals during the Clarkston Varsity Football’s 30-21 win over Southfield Arts & Technology on Friday. He scored on a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter and scored on a 46-yard and 20-yard kick in the second half, adding nine points to the tally.
“Tristan was outstanding again,” said Kurt Richardson, long-time head coach for Clarkston Varsity Football. “No doubt about it. He has been unbelievable so far.”
Mattson scored on a 43-yard field goal with three seconds remaining in the first half against Rochester Adams, Sept. 14. He also was 3-for-3 on PATs.
“Tristan was good again tonight with special teams,” Richardson said after the Wolves’ 30-8 victory over the Highlanders.
Mattson opened the season aiding the Wolves in their 12-9 win over Grandville during Battle of the Big House III, Aug. 24. He scored on two field goal kicks in the first half with distances of 20 yards and 22 yards.
