Kickers grabbed the lead with a goal from senior Owen Dollins in the second face off against Detroit Catholic Central.
Dollins scored in the fourth minute in the MHSAA Division 1 Boys Soccer Regional 4 Semifinal game at West Bloomfield on Oct. 22.
The Shamrocks tied the game five minutes later then took the lead with one more goal before the first half closed.
“It was disappointing to lose again in the regional semifinal,” said Ian Jones, head coach for Clarkston Boys Varsity Soccer. “They could have won it. We could have won it – in the last 20 minutes we dominated.”
The Wolves finished the season with an overall 13-4-2 record and finished as back-to-back district champions.
“They had a fairly good season,” Jones added. “Overall they were fantastic. We lost four games overall including the last game. They beat Troy Athens (who finished as state champion). It was an excellent season. It was quite a young team with a lot of young players within the team. It was a good season.”
The Wolves bid goodbye to 11 seniors include Luke Bechtell, Austin Carter, Curtis Childs, Chris DeFinis, Owen Dollins, Michael Farrell, DJ Morgan, Isaac Nassau-Young, Brendan Regelbrugge, Colin Slunik and Ethan Wise.
“They were extremely coachable,” said Jones. “They helped the younger players tremendously. They took their time with the group. They were great kids to coach.”
