The lady Blackhawks are hitting more than softballs. They are hitting a rough patch in their season and Varsity Coach Kristin Martin attributes the slump to the fundamentals of softball.
‘We made errors and we didn’t hit,’she said. ‘When you’re not putting any runs in and getting three and four errors an inning, it’s going to bite you.?
The Blackhawks were defeated by Clio on Monday. The score was 3-7 in the first game and 4-8 in the second game.
Martin said the Clio game was an off day. The team’s record is 13-9 and 6-4 in the league. While the team is down right now, past success is due to friendship.
‘They have a lot of chemistry,? she said.
‘They’re all friends off the field, too.’Martin has been coaching softball for two years.
