Clarkston collegiate academic achievements

Sarah Lacey and Andrew Ross, both of Clarkston, have been named to the Cedarville University Dean’s Honor List for the Spring 2020 semester.
This recognition requires students to maintain a 3.75 GPA for the semester while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Located in southwest Ohio, Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist institution.

Dillon Gibbons, an Intelligence & National Security Studies major from Clarkston, graduated from Coastal Carolina University in May.
Coastal Carolina University launched its first virtual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8, featuring a recorded message from alumnus and Emmy-nominated actor Michael Kelly.
President David A. DeCenzo presided over the ceremony for the spring Class of 2020, which was launched on the Coastal Carolina University YouTube channel.

Clemson University has announced the Spring 2020 President’s List, and it includes Sydney Ann Marie Foley, a Nursing major, and Jack Matthew Owen-Turner, a Pre-Business major, both of Clarkston.
To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
Clemson is located in Clemson, S.C.

Leilani Neme, of Clarkston, was named to the Dean’s List at Miami University for the 2019-20 Spring Semester.
Miami University students who are ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within their division for second semester 2019-20 have been named to the dean’s list recognizing academic performance.
Neme is majoring in Strategic Communication, Psychology.
Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio.

Joseph O’Brien, of Clarkston, was named to the Westminster College Dean’s List for the Spring 2020 semester.
O’Brien is majoring in Biology.
To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Established in 1852 and located in New Wilmington, Pa., Westminster was the first college in the country open to all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex or religion from its founding charter by the Presbyterian Church.

Ava Thewes, of Clarkston, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for earning Highest Honors for the Spring 2020 semester.
Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade-point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0.
Thewes is majoring in Sport Studies.

Samantha Batchelder, Gabrielle Brand, Mariah Drye, Natalia Gergle, and Jala Smith, all of Clarkston, were named to the Winter 2020 semester Deans’ List at Saginaw Valley State University.
To be eligible for the Deans’ List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

Jessica Laconis and Elizabeth Smith, both of Clarkston, have been named to the Winter 2020 semester President’s List at Saginaw Valley State University.
To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade-point average.

Mia Marie Gebrowsky, of Clarkston, made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2020 semester at Spring Arbor University.

More than 1,100 students were named to the President’s List at Coastal Carolina University for the Spring 2020 semester, including Nicholas Korns, a Management Pre-Major major from Clarkston.
Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Three students from Clarkston are among more than 1,500 Harding University students included on the Dean’s List for grades achieved during the Spring 2020 semester: Nick Stevenson, senior Film major, Brittany Burch, senior Social Work major, and Alex Stevenson, sophomore Psychology major.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.
Harding University is located in Searcy, Ark.

Nathan Vandermeer, of Clarkston, was named to the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at the University of Findlay.
To earn this achievement, a student must attain a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The university is located in Findlay, Ohio.

Hunter Krajci, of Clarkston, was named to the Dean’s List at Pensacola Christian College for the 2020 Spring semester.
This was a result of earning a semester grade-point average of 3.00 or higher.
In addition, Paige Nichols and Jen Settle, both of Clarkston, were named to the President’s List for the Spring 2020 semester, the result of having a semester GPA of 3.90 or above.
The college is located in Pensacola, Fla.
