Goodrich- The school board Ok’d a contract with Coca-Cola for dispensers in both the middle school and high school. The 10 machines will dispense water, and fruit juice in addition to Coke products. Terms of the $35,000 five year deal include $20,000 up front to the school then $3,750 per year. Proceeds will be used for a new high school marquee to be located near Hegel Road.
‘We want the public to understand that the money for the new sign is coming from Coca-Cola and the sign company,? said Kim Hart, Goodrich superintendent.
‘The fees are generated from the sale of the pop.?
A previous agreement five years ago to carry only Coke products in the school’s carbonated beverage vending machines netted the district more than $20,000, says Hart. Previously, the funds were used to purchase a score board.
The school board will consider the details of the new sign at the Janurary meeting.
