Lake Orion School Board Vice President Mary Jo Burchart, Secretary Tina Peterson and challenger Ken Grant are vying for two seats that are up for grabs in next Tuesday’s (May 6) school board election.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and all voters should head to their normal precincts (a full list, along with a map, is available online at www.oriontownship.org).
Sample ballots are also available online.
About 400 voters with township residences, but within the Pontiac School District, will be voting for one open seat there.
Clerk Jill Bastian also noted that there are 10 voters in Auburn Hills, but within the Lake Orion School District, that will vote in Orion Township for the first time.
There are many other Orion district voters in Oxford and Addison townships, along with a majority of Oakland Township.
Profiles of the candidates are available through the League of Women Voters (www.lwvoa.org) and in last week’s Review (see the link at the bottom of this page).
Voters are reminded that they must present a valid photo ID at the polls, like a driver’s license or state ID card.
