Hitters took the lead during the top of the first inning last Wednesday against Oxford with four runs on their way to a 8-4 victory.
Clarkston Varsity Baseball team continued to hold onto the lead through the next three innings with their pitching and fielding.
Jack Muhleck hit a double during the fourth inning to bring in one run.
The Wildcats were ready to cut the lead at the bottom of the inning as Ryan Barber stepped onto the mound as pitcher. But Oxford’s third hitter was the first to go out of the game at first base. A throw from Jack Kuczmanski on third to Kyle Harvey on first base gave Oxford their second out.
Fast action ended the inning when Barber ran for a loose ball and touched home base before the Wildcats’ runner could score.
The Wolves put the score to 8-2 during the fifth inning. Camden Hadley hit a double during the inning.
Clarkston also defeated Oxford in a double header on May 9, 6-5 and 7-2.
During the first game, Muhleck went 2-for-3 in hitting and hit a double. Joe Halligan had two RBIs while Anthony Reiner, Jack Kuczmanski and Joe Kuczmanski had one RBI each. Reiner pitched for seven innings and had five hits and three strikeouts.
Hadley and Barber went 1-for-2 during the second game, both hitting doubles as well as Joe Kuczmanski. Muhleck had two RBIs and Harvey, Hadley, Barber and Joe Kuczmanski had one RBI each.

The Wolves split their double header against Lake Orion on Monday. During the 3-0 loss in the first game, Joe Kuczmanski hit a double. He pitched for seven innings and had two earned runs and three strikeouts.
They won the second game 6-2 with Joe Kuczmanski, Noah Nicklin and Dylan Perry each had two RBIs. Perry hit a triple off his lone hit.
Reiner was the winning pitcher, throwing for seven innings and had one earned run.
They head to Lake Orion on Wednesday to finish their 3-game series with the Dragons which started on Monday.
Clarkston hosts the Roy Warner tournament this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
