For the week of May 11, the Lake Orion boys? varsity baseball team won two out of their three games.
On Wednesday, May 13, the Dragons lost against their Stoney Creek opponents 18-11. This was their first loss in nine games.
But this loss only caused them to work even harder.
On Saturday, May 16, the boys made up for this loss with two more wins to add to their record.
The first game they played was against West Bloomfield, and their second game was against Midland.
The Dragons won against West Bloomfield 5-4, with Kyle Rosen accredited for the final run which ultimately won the game.
The boys? winning streak continued in the second game of the afternoon. They won their game against Midland with the same score of 5-4.
Vinnie Booker went 3-for-4 in this game and hit a homerun for the team.
This game was a little bit more challenging, but the Dragons didn’t give up and kept fighting their opponents until the end when they finally won in the eighth inning.
Player Chris Baumann said that the game went into the extra inning because of solid defense and clutch hits.
Baumann said that the Dragons? playing and accomplishments so far this season have astonished many people who couldn’t foretell the potential of this young team.
‘We are surprising many teams, and we will continue to work hard,? Baumann said.
‘We knew coming into the season that we were noted as the underdogs. But we are just going to keep doing what we know how to do, which is play ball,? he added.
