Everest Mountaineers clinch district title

BURTON — The Mountaineers claimed their sixth consecutive district title with a 5-0 shut out over Brighton Livingston Christian last Thursday at Genesee Christian Elementary.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate opened the MHSAA Division 4 Boys Soccer District 62 with a 4-0 win over Brighton Charyl Stockwell Prep in the semifinal, Oct. 15.

The Sentinels held Everest a scoreless first half. During the second half, Mountaineers started chipping it in from past the defense-heavy Sentinels and closed it out.
Goals during the week came from Charles Schmitt , Mark Cross, Isaac Cross, Benjamin Sasak, and Zachary Felix. Parker Stalcup was in the net.
The Mountaineers (15-2-2) played Lansing Christian (20-2) in the Regional 16 Semifinal on Tuesday and lost 2-1. The winner moves on to regional final on Thursday at Lansing Christian at 6 p.m.
Oct. 22 regional 16 semifinal regional game against Lansing Christian.
