Oxford’s lady golfers took third place Monday in their first Flint Metro League tournament of the season held at the Flint Elks Country Club.
With a team score of 427, Oxford finished behind first place Fenton and second place Brandon, yet beat league rival Linden, who placed fourth.
‘I figured we’d be in the top three or four,? said Coach Terry Kelley. ‘It was pretty much what I expected.?
Playing 18 holes, senior Karen Offer led the team with a score of 102 followed by junior Christi Schiffman (105), senior Kelsy King (106) and junior Clare Hubbard (114).
The team’s next match is against Linden Monday, April 24 at the Oxford Hills Golf and Country Club.
