Goodrich’s Morgan takes both games of twin bill against Bentley

Goodrich senior pitcher Jessica Morgan won both ends of a doubleheader April 21 as the Martians remained undefeated this season.
The Martians defeated host Bentley 13-1 in the opener and 12-4 in the nightcap, improving to 11-0 in the season and 4-0 in Genesee Area Conference play. Bentley fell to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in the league.
In the first game, which lasted five innings, Morgan went the distance and allowed one run (unearned) on four hits while striking out five, and also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Ellen Nothhelfer went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Julie Owen went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and Alisha Bergeron went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
In the nightcap, Morgan came on in relief of younger sister Tori (who allowed three runs in three innings pitched), going the final four innings and allowing an unearned run on two hits.
Kelsey Krych led the Goodrich charge in the second game, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Sydney Mahalak contributed a 2-for-3 effort with one RBI and one run scored, while Blaze Wilson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, and Owen went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
