Residents on S. Long Lake Boulevard, north of Grace Court, have requested that their section of road be converted from private to public.
The township board received the petition and voted to prepare a cost estimate for the Cooney Private-to-Public Road Special Assessment District at their Jan. 5 meeting. The remainder of S. Long Lake is already a public road.
After the road is made public, the maintenance would be turned over to the Road Commission for Oakland County. The SAD will cover all costs associated with the process of converting the road from private to public.
