David N. Benton of Springfield Township was sentenced on May 17 for charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct, possessing child sexually-abusive material and committing a crime with a computer.
The sentences for the two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct are both three to 15 years. On the eight counts of possessing child sexually-abusive material, Benton received sentences of 15 months to four years. A penalty of 18 months to 7 years was given for the eight counts of committing a crime with a computer. All sentences run concurrently.
Benton was arrested in November 2004 after a woman employed to clean his home came across evidence of pornography.
Investigators later found evidence of pornography on Benton’s computer and then interviewed two children who were allegedly victims of sexual assault.
