Orion Township Treasurer James Marleau is now one of 52 members of the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada awarded the Association’s Certified Municipal Finance Administrator (CMFA) credential in 2002/2003.
Marleau was formally recognized for this achievement during the Association’s 38th Annual Conference in Washington, DC, which he did not attend. He received the award in person at the Orion Township Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 2, where it was presented to him from Oakland County Treasurer Pat Dohany.
The CMFA program is a professional certification designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate a strong knowledge of the field of public finance. Recipients must achieve a high level of professional experience and education, and the certification must be renewed every five years through continuous professional development.
