The third time was the charm.
Brandon’s wrestling team finally hosted a quad meet on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Brandon Middle School, about two weeks after it was originally scheduled.
The meet, which also included Lapeer East, Fenton and Holly, was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Brandon High School.
It was rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5, but was postponed yet again when two of the four teams did not follow the prescribed ‘home weigh-in? procedure.
Brandon Athletic Director Larry Lamphere declined to identify the two teams which failed to follow the procedure, but did say the mishap was likely due to a miscommunication resulting from the rescheduling of the meet.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association’s policy on the matter states: ‘On the day prior to a scheduled meet, the principal or his/her designee (not a coach) shall administer the ‘Home Weigh-In? no earlier than 3 p.m.?
