A serious car accident on Lapeer and Drahner at 7:30 a.m. left a 42-year-old Oxford woman in serious but stable condition. The crash had traffic at the intersection snarled during morning rush-hour traffic, Wednesday, June 29.
According to Oakland County Sheriff’s reports, the woman was traveling northbound on Lapeer in her 1995 Ford Taurus. She was broadsided when she made a left-hand turn onto Drahner, by a 39-year-old Waterford resident, driving a ?97 Ford stake truck traveling. The truck was southbound.
According to the deputies, the truck ran off the roadway onto the property of 1010 S. Lapeer.
The Oxford woman was trapped in her car and had to be extricated by the Oxford Township Fire Department. She was airlifted by a Life Flight medical helicopter to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital where she is listed in serious but stable condition. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
