Recent LO grad killed in crash

The faces on drivers approaching the Joslyn Road scene told the story.
Just four days after graduating from Lake Orion High School, an 18-year-old Clarkston resident was killed when his 2003 Ford Mustang ran off the road and collided with a tree.
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, just a few hundred yards north of Canterbury Village.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were still investigating the crash at press time, but believed that the driver of the Mustang had just left Canterbury Village.
They said he was attempting to pass another northbound vehicle and had to swerve to avoid hitting a southbound SUV.
The SUV sustained damage while running off the road, but Orion Substation Lieutenant Bruce Naile said no one in that vehicle was seriously hurt.
When the driver of the Mustang tried to avoid the SUV, witnesses told police he crossed completely off the roadway and into a tree about a dozen feet east of the shoulder.
According to Naile, the 18-year-old was pronounced dead when first responders arrived on the scene.
