A 29-year-old Brandon Township man was arraigned on multiple charges after being involved in a road rage incident which ultimately ended with him attempting to evade arrest and being combative with police.
Johnathan Bailey was arraigned June 5 on charges of reckless driving, driving while license suspended, second offense, and disturbing the peace in front of 52-3 District Court Judge Nancy Carniak.
According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Office report, at 8:42 p.m., June 4, deputies responded to the area of Clarkston Road and Baldwin Road in Orion Township for a road rage incident that escalated when the responsible driver, later identified as Bailey, intentionally struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle. Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle and Baldwin and Waldon roads. Bailey was in the passenger seat, but the victim and an independent third party witness identified him as the driver. He refused to provide identification to deputies or to provide his name. He became combative, was arrested and lodged at the Oakland County Jail, where Bailey was identified by deputies using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). Bailey had several outstanding warrants for assault and battery, fleeing and eluding police, as well as driving-related offenses.
Bailey was given a $5,000 cash/surety bond, no 10 percent, and remains incarcerated at the Oakland County Jail as of press time.
