Second and fourth for track teams, more records fall

The Lake Orion boys? placed second at last Friday’s OAA I track meet, while the girls? finished fourth and continued to break some school records in the process.
The meet was held at Soutfield, with Adams winning on the boys? side and West Bloomfield on the girls?.
The Dragon boys? were 35 points behind the victors, but edged third-place Rochester by a single point. LO’s league champs included A.J. Palko in the shot put (47?0?) and Niklas Rippon in the 110 hurdles (15.0).
Ryan Ziolko earned a second- and a third-place finish in the one mile and two mile runs, respectively.
The team finished the OAA I season in third place.
The girls?, meanwhile, broke the 4X200 relay school record for the second time in a week, with their time of 1:46.3 just two-tenths of a second behind league champ West Bloomfield. The 4X100 team also placed second and broke a school record with a time of 50.6.
Lake Orion’s fourth place finish at the meet secured a fourth place finish in the final league standings as well.
